Despite being busy with school and the current winter season, Midwestern Rewilding has still been searching for opportunities to expand native wildflower areas. With the publication of my article in Sargent’s newsletter, a few people wrote to hear more!
The Rochester Garden Club asked if I would be willing to present at a meeting or set up one of my seed stands. While my schedule is still in flux, I will make sure to post once the details are confirmed.
A member of the Longfellow Elementary PTA contacted me to help with creating a small prairie behind the school. I was able to provide advice on different flowers and suggestions for creating student interactions. The project received a grant and I hope to continue working with them to create the prairie and provide educational opportunities for the students (all potential native gardeners!).
As Minnesota warms up in the Spring, we will be sure to continue our seed stands project, expand it to new locations, and keep finding more opportunities like these!
