The Med City Roller Derby invited Midwestern Rewilding to host a seed stand at their event! It was a wonderful experience—from the kind, interested people, to the excitement of the derby itself. I spoke to more than 70 people, handing out nearly all the seed packets I had. Hopefully the seeds are planted in the fall (all 2,100+ of them!).

During this seed stand, the seeds were organized into groups with their pictures beside them. This was very helpful when explaining the characteristics of each type of seed.

There were many people excited about the seeds and asking questions about the plants they would become; however, only a few asked about the project itself. Further, many of the people that passed seemed to think the seeds were for sale, missing out on a free packet. It would be wise to find new methods to engage people—especially those that are unaware of the importance of native wildlife.
